Description

Hereford Hop made by Charles Martell. A full fat hard cheese made with pasteurised cows’ milk and natural rennet.

A full fat hard cheese made with pasteurised cows’ milk and natural rennet. Encrusted with toasted hops which give a pleasing edge to the flavour. Invented in 1990 on the Charles Martell farm which is a cheese throw from the Herefordshire border. Please note this cheese is extensively copied elsewhere and for the most part is made of minced and then re-formed cheddar cheese. It’s then rolled in hop dust. Also all others aside from this, the original, are now called Worcestershire Hop – so you will always know if it is the original!
