A simple hand made table mat with heat proof padding

On a  recent visit to the island of Harris in the Outer Hebrides I visited a weaving workshop owned by two young women who used to live in Lydbrook. I bought a couple of bags of scraps of their beautiful woven wools. The mats I have made were inspired by the islands, for this one it was the  sea, the huge sandy beaches and the sheep.
